Biography:

Muffler is Konsta Mikkonen, with a host of releases on UK labels, Muffler has certainly made an impact. Previous releases on Urban Takeover were accepted worldwide by both clubbers and DJ’s and his CD album on Urban Takeover “Soundz Of The Future” has got a warm welcome too. Also his mix cd, which consists only of his own tracks for Knowledge magazine (april 2004 issue) got him some well deserved attention

Muffler has releases out and forthcoming on top labels such as Moving Shadow, TOV, Hospital, DSCI4,
Formation, Commercial Suicide, Frequency, Outbreak, Urban Takeover

Together with Paul Rae he is also running a record label called SighCo Recordings,

His tracks has been played by Andy C, Mampi Swift, Grooverider, Fabio, Zinc, Fresh BC, Optical, Trace, Aphrodite, Mickey Finn, Concord Dawn, London Elektricity, High Contrast, Matrix to name but a few.

As a DJ, Muffler always plays dubplate heavy selection with latest cuts from himself and other producers.

About Pete Samplers & Mando
Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, these boys are tipped to do some serious damage!

They have shared a studio for the last four years working on their own separate projects, recently they decided to pool their talents and the results speak for themselves. Their music is rough, heavy, twisted and still has a musical edge keeping, your feet firmly on the dance floor.

Pete Samplers has been a DJ since the early nineties, spending the last six years promoting various nights and playing all over Europe, in places like Iceland, the Czech Republic and Estonia. He’s now resident and co-promoter of Freaky Dancing, which is Newcastle’s longest running Techno and breaks night. Mando from M.A.S.S is a highly talented Producer and engineer with a background in a variety of different musical genres, which has earned him numerous releases over the last four years. He currently works with artists from all over the UK and is involved in various projects ranging from classical Indian music to Hip Hop and of course breaks.

Their first joint release on vinyl came out on the Drunken Unstable Imprint called ‘Dirtbag’ which received massive support from the worldwide Breaks community. That was followed by “Rude Girl Skank” on the same Label and “One Arm Bandit” on Downbeat Productions, which was snapped up for the Breakspoll Vol 1 compilation on Supercharged.

Pete and Mando have been working on a live fusion project incorporating hip hop, breaks and classical Indian music, which saw then perform at Glastonbury, the Glade Festival and Womex World Music festival to name but a few.

2007 kicks off with another release for Downbeat Productions and a busy schedule for them both!

About Stapleton MC
Stapleton MC aka Robbie Stapes is a hard working and highly respected MC within the drum and Bass scene. Having been spotted and asked to produce a demo for Trouble on Vinyl in 2004. Stapleton has knuckled down with a constructive attitude and positive thought, fast forward and Stapleton has now firmly established himself as a Renegade Hardware MC (London & Worldwide). It is due to this he now currently holds residencies with Therapy Sessions (London & Worldwide) W10 Records (London & Worldwide) Hospitality Brighton and Breakneck. Stapleton’s style is a combination of original wordplay, intelligence, versatility, presence and crowd control accompanied by a good strong voice. These qualities have seen the stamp of approval from fellow artists and peers in the scene. As things keep going from strength to strength, you can be sure of continuous progression from the kid they call ‘Stapes’.

Silvia M.[23] found her spot in the darklights of romanian capital, Bucharest, where she also lives. For 3 years she switched from heavy basslines to ragga flavours over jungle riddims till the BPM grew over 200 adding some core spices once her first ZombieFleshEater record came in the way. In ‘06, in a mushy club of old electronic tradition and loyal music consumers, she started a chain of parties called ” Liqweed to Raw” which still developes as we speak. “From playing the entire night for the people you get more connected to them and the essence of it as a result”. In paralel, working on diferent projects along other local promoters[MBA, TP] so far turned to be a success, also healthy for the local scene. Bringing together over 500 pople to say the least for one drumandbass event gives us all a good greatfull feeling. Recently Dropdread also developed a taste for darktech as a consequence to the tasty releases of the rise of many young producers. May Now be a good time for the end of Begining!
